Creating New Pages from Templates (Mob, Egg, Pal)

When creating a new Mob, Egg, or Pal article, start from a blank page in Notion. You’ll be prompted with the option to “Start with a Template.” Select the appropriate template from the list (Mob, Egg, or Pal).

Each template already includes:

  • Pre-written formatting and structure
  • Linked database views (Mob Loot Table, Hatch Table, or Hatch Loot Table)

Once you’ve applied the template, follow the steps below:

1. Fill in Page-Specific Content

Update the template text with the correct information for the mob, egg, or pal you're documenting. This includes:

  • Names, descriptions, stats
  • Linked references to mobs, skills, locations, or items
  • Icons or banners if needed

2. Update the Database Filters

Each template comes with pre-inserted database views. To personalize them for the new page:

  • On Mob pages:
  • Filter the Mob Loot Table to Mob → Contains → [Current Page]

  • On Egg pages:
  • Filter the Hatch Table to Egg → Contains → [Current Page]

  • On Pal pages:
  • Filter the Hatch Loot Table to Pal → Contains → [Current Page]

⚠️ Be sure only one filter value is selected. Do not leave multiple mobs, eggs, or pals selected in the same view.

3. Click “Save for Everyone”

After setting the filter, click the “Save for Everyone” button in the database view.

If you skip this step, others may see the unfiltered or default table.

4. Final Touches

  • Rename table headers if needed (e.g., 🎁 Loot Drops, 🥚 Hatch Results, 🎁 Hatch Loot)
  • Add the correct icon and page cover
  • Double-check for formatting consistency using the Style Guide

Following these steps ensures the new page is visually consistent, accurately filtered, and fully connected to our synced database infrastructure.
