Volcano Challenge

Leave the house after getting the skateboard from Ava. Plop will initiate a conversation with you. Head west to the entrance to the Volcano. You must defeat Goblin and Zombie on the way.

Ava will stop you and give x10 Tentacle. You’re gonna need it! Continue heading west, up the stairs to the Volcano entrance.

The area east of the Volcano is Skelefriend, where you can enchant skateboards, sacrifice pals, and get assigned Death tasks. (View in 💀Death skill)

As you approach the Volcano, you are stopped by Co Fane, organizer of the Volcano Challenge and creator of Embermaw. It’s time to enter.

Defeat the enemies and make your way deeper into the cavern.

Near the Fireskele , Plop offers 90 Gold for each Lava Skateboard you bring him.

Near the next room, is a machine known as a disintegrator. Take skateboards here to obtain cores and start gaining ⚡XP!

The next room is the last before facing off against Embermaw. Go northwest to the next door way to get a cutscene. Thus begins the quest → Ancient Bond. Complete this and come back here for the rest of the Volcano Challenge.

Once you have completed Ancient Bond and have possession of the Ancient Skateboard, you may proceed with the rest of this quest.

The next room holds Embermaw. Before fighting him, walk forward to get some words of encouragement from Co Fane.

Make sure to equip the Ancient Skateboard for 🌊Water type advantage against 🔥Fire. A 🔥Fire type Hoodie would also help with damage mitigation here.

Overall, ram into him to do damage. Don’t get hit. Bring plenty of healing items so you don’t perish and have to trek all the way back here.

Upon defeat, head towards the door for a final conversation with Co Fane. He will give you an Embermaw Skateboard as reward.

Once out of the Volcano. You will find yourself on a small sandy island, containing a newly discovered crafting material — rocks! The Torrey Captain here needs a Clay Fishing Rod before he’ll take you to Torrey Village.

Use your skateboard to mine x8 Clay and use the nearby Forge to pack into x2 Clay Brick. You can take these clay bricks to the anvil down the stairs and craft the rod for the captain. He will take you to Torrey Village.
